The Right Way to Grab Your Orchid

Every week, we take a few minutes to show our orchid some love. Despite our best intentions, there is a frequent mistake we frequently see that often goes overlooked. 

How exactly should you grab your orchid when watering it?

This might not seem like a huge concern, but grabbing the orchid from the wrong place can actually damage the plant. 

Many people mistakenly grab the orchid from the stem when they are removing it from the decorative pot for watering. Doing this can harm the stem or cause breakage. 

The right way to grab your orchid is actually from the base of the plant. 

As you do this, especially the first time - you may need to also grab the plastic grow pot from the side and wiggle the plant if it feels a bit stuck. 

As you pull out the plant, hold on to the grow pot with your other hand.
